Designed to function as a normal tooth, a crown fits snugly on your existing tooth, restoring its function and appearance and protecting it from further harm. Dr. Cekada will choose an all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM), or gold crown based on the location of your damaged tooth.
Dr. Cekada may recommend a porcelain inlay or onlay if your tooth’s damage doesn’t require a full crown. An inlay fits within the bumps on the chewing surface of your tooth, and an onlay fits over one or more bumps, restoring comfort and function.
